Iain Miller leads the Cambridge-based Personalized Medicine team at bioMerieux, which he joined in 2007. bioMerieux is a global In Vitro Diagnostics market leader with $1.7B in 2010 revenues. Prior to joining bioMerieux, he has held senior business development positions at US Genomics (now PathoGenetix), personalized medicine pioneer Variagenics, Candela Corporation, and Boston Consulting Group life science venture ActiveCyte. In the mid-1990s, he also managed technology partnering for Massachusetts General Hospital, and has founded two medical device ventures. Iain holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, an MBA from Edinburgh Business School and a Bachelors degree in Physics from the University of Glasgow. Slideshow

 

Loïc Kubitza, Director - Corporate Finance, PricewaterhouseCoopers

Loïc Kubitza is the director responsible for deal advisory services to the life sciences sector at PwC in Luxembourg. He has focused on deal and strategy advisory work in the pharmaceuticals and life sciences sector since 1995 at PwC in London.  Loïc moved to Luxembourg in November 2008 following the country’s increasing diversification into life sciences. At PwC in Luxembourg, he has worked with companies in the diagnostics and pharmaceutical sectors including fund raising, licensing and strategy advisory mandates. He was the main co-author of the PwC study Diagnostics 2009: Moving towards personalised medicine. Personalised medicine became an important focus area for PwC in Luxembourg as the government announced plans to invest €140 million into three research projects involving leading US based scientists. Loïc has an MSc in Molecular Medicine (Imperial College), an MSc in Economics (Université Catholique de Louvain) and is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW). Slideshow

 

Dr Nick Crabb, Associate Director – Diagnostics Assessment Programme, NICE

Nick joined NICE in January 2010 following a 20 year career in analytical science, process technology and general management in the chemical, pharmaceutical and contract laboratory industries. At NICE, Nick is responsible for the establishment and management of the new Diagnostics Assessment Programme.Slideshow
